On passage between France and Jersey we fowled two pot lines. The area is a popular area for fishing and the pot lines are difficult to spot in low light. Harmony Stove is fitted with scissor type rope cutters on the shafts.
The first fowling cleared with out any problem with the rope cutters working perfectly. The second fowling was more serious and a large ball of rope was caught on the starboard propeller. We did manage to clear the rope, but the block on the shaft bracket broke and needed to be replaced. The damage to the rope cutter suggested that the reason for the broken block was probably a shackle on the pot line which broke the rope cutter.
This time-lapse/real time video is of the lift out of Harmony Stove to repair the rope cutter. After the repair Harmony Stove was re-lunched and sea trailed.
