Dolphins Lead the way from Jersey to France

I love watching the dolphins they are so graceful and fun.  Some times a pod of dolphins come over and take a look at us then move on when they are on passage to feeding grounds other times they come over and spend time with us surfing our bow wake. We just put the boat on auto pilot to keep a constant course and speed which allows us to keep a look out for pots and other vessels and enjoy the dolphins at the same time.

It is reported that Jersey has the one of the largest pods of Bottle Nose Dolphins in the world.  We also have Common Dolphins, Grey Seals and Porpoise.  While I have not seen any I understand that there are Minke wales which visit the Channel Islands.  On occasion we see Sun Fish bathing on the water surface which is a treat.

Jersey has a number of  Ramsar Sites which are coastal protected areas off the North, East and South East coast which provides a fantastic natural area for wildlife.

Enjoy!!!
