The Hahnel is my choice of shotgun type microphone. There is a soft mount which reduces noise from handling the camera. It is powered by two AAA batteries which was supplied with the microphone and gives it excellent operating time.

There is a switch which adjusts the sound sensitivity from -48dB to +10dB which helps to reduce the amount of amplification applied by the camera. DSLR cameras don’t have brilliant sound amplifiers so any help from the microphone is welcome.
My microphone was supplied with a foam shield and a deadcat wind shield which was also welcome. The connection is via a 3.5mm cable which fits my Canon 80D.
I have had very good service from my microphone and am happy to recommend this product.
