The Rode Wireless Microphone is a brilliant bit of kit which I use on a regular basis. The wireless microphone gives me freedom to move around without loosing sound. Rode claim a range of up to 100 meters, but I have yet to test that. The unit has a number of frequencies which are encrypted. It is very easy to operate just turn on both the transmitter and the receiver and they link themselves together.
The receiver has a OLED display which displays the channel and battery status and can be mounted on the hot shoe mount. If lights are required then an additional bracket is necessary. I tend to hang the receiver off the tripod which is not the best idea.
The transmitter has a belt hook and a display with the channel read out. Opening the back reveals a pairing button and variation in output levels. I tend to use mine at the maximum to minimise the amplification required on the camera as the amplifier s on DSLR cameras aren’t brilliant.
The microphone came with a lapel clip and both a foam and deadcat cover. Both the transmitter and the receiver work on double A batteries, which I prefer. I certainly have no hesitation in recommending this product for versatility, quality and sound production.
