Sundance Update ~ 30 April 2018

I am well behind on my updates so I thought it was time to write a post.

Since my last post, Sundance was moved to Yacht Haven Marina, who were brilliant and gave us a winter contract rate for the duration of the stay.

We had found a delivery skipper who said that he would deliver Sundance to St Helier, Jersey; it transpired that he was going to deliver her as an in between job and I felt that he was dragging his heels. He eventually admitted that he didn’t have the time to make the delivery.

We quickly found a new skipper who was more keen to make the passage.  While the original delivery skipper was happy to use the life-raft which was on Sundance.  The life-raft had no conformation as to when it was last serviced and it was not known the age of the raft.  The new skipper wanted an in date life-raft, a first aid kit, a radar reflector, new fire extinguishers and new flares.

The life-raft which was on Sundance was a four man raft in a valise.  As I wanted a six man canister, it suited me to acquire a new six man life-raft.  The new life-raft and all of the other bits and pieces were quickly delivered on board.

The delivery skipper decided to make the passage over two days stopping overnight in Alderney.  Finally here to our relief.

Now the task of sorting out what we would like to do to Sundance to make her our own which will be the subject of my next post

More soon……………..
