Condor Clipper Turning in Force 8 Gale with aid of Tug

Blowing a good Force eight gale and at a high tide Condor Clipper docks in her birth at St Helier, Jersey C.I. with the aid of the States of Jersey Tug, the Duke of Normandy.
The procedure is a highly skilled manoeuvre, there is very little room for error as the turning space is only just large enough for Condor Clipper to turn. With the high tide there is very little shelter from the harbour wall. While the cargo ferry has powerful engines and bow thrusters the strength of the wind makes it necessary for the harbour tug to assist with the turning manoeuvre and help to push her against the harbour wall as the wind is trying to push the ferry away from the wall.
